wildfire Rx' experience with home insurers' concerns about insuring homes in the Leavenworth and Plain area
As some of you may have experienced, the Leavenworth and Plain area is becoming more difficult to insure due to its history of wildfire, and recent fire events such as the Lower Sugarloaf Fire.
Some insurers just send you a letter indicating dropped coverage. However, some offer the homeowner an opportunity to make changes to reduce the risk of ignition and be renewed. This is where wildfireRx' expertise can help.

Here are the typical recommendations I've seen insurers require of homeowners:

-
Removal of all combustible debris within 5-10' of the home's perimeter. This will leave you with mineral soil, rock/gravel, concrete (anything that will not burn.
-
Limbing tree branches at least 10' up from the ground, that are within 30' of the home.
-
Removal of trees and other plants (with owner's input) that are within 10' of a home.
-
Installing 1/8" wire mesh or hardie board on stair risers or below decks that are <3' above ground to prevent embers and combustible material from entering the area.
-
